Alban de Clermont-Tonnerre
35 years of experience in bond trading, debt capital markets and asset management
Alban joined Clerville in 2007 from Goldman Sachs where he was regional head of Debt Capital Markets. Prior to this he was founder and CEO of online bond trading platform Web-Bonds, a bond trader at CCF and Merrill Lynch and a derivatives marketer at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. He has extensive experience of financial markets and products, is the author of two books on zero-coupon bonds and was a consultant to the French treasury on various fixed income related topics. Alban graduated in Finance from Paris Dauphine University in 1986.

Bertrand Coste
35 years of experience in equity research, investment banking and wealth management
Bertrand is the founder of Clerville’s preceding entity, QES Investment Ltd. Prior to this, he worked with Arthur Andersen in Paris as an auditor, Groupe Paribas France and UBS Phillips & Drew as a research analyst and investment banker. He is a member of Société Française des Analystes Financiers and a Director of the Schlumberger Museum. Bertrand graduated in Finance and Economics from Sciences Po Paris in 1982 and in Corporate and Tax Law from Université de Paris II in 1984.
Jean-Marc Spitalier
35 years of experience in financial markets, equity & fund derivatives and ALM advisory
Jean-Marc joined Clerville in 2017 from Unicredit where he was Global Head of Fund Solutions in the Equity Division. He was also Chairman of the Board of Structured-Invest, Unicredit’s asset-manager dedicated to its investment banking division. From 2000-2008, he was the Founder and Global Head of Fund Derivatives at Lehman Brothers in the Fixed Income Division. Previously, from 1996-200, he was a head of structuring at BNP Paribas for Equities. He started his career as a strategic and ALM consultant at AT Kearney in 1987. Jean-Marc holds an MBA In Finance from E.S.S.E.C. Business School and is a Certified Actuary from the I.A.F. (Institute of French Actuaries).


Manuel Carrelet
15 years experience of debt capital markets and 17 years of HNW wealth management
Manuel joined Clerville in 2017 from Generation Asset Management that he founded in 2010 to provide specialist wealth management services on a discretionary and advisory basis. Manuel has been in charge of the Asset Management & Private Client Business at Generation Asset Management. He was chair of the investment committee. Manuel previously built the Private Wealth business from within Atlas Capital since 2002, which was eventually acquired by MBO in 2010 to form Generation Asset Management. He has been successfully managing high net worth portfolios since 2002. Prior to that, for 15 years, he was responsible for debt capital markets business as head of debt syndication at ING Barings and BNP Paribas in London (Managing Director). Manuel holds a BBA degree with a specialisation in Finance from the George Washington University.
Michel de Liedekerke
29 years of experience in corporate banking, private banking and wealth management
Michel joined Clerville in 2007 from Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for the French and Belgium markets. Prior to this he held various positions in the corporate and private banking divisions of Citibank, then joined Morgan Stanley’s private bank as a portfolio manager before moving to business development. He is a board member of Rayvax, one of the controlling entities of Anheuser-Busch InBev. Michel obtained a Law degree from Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1988.


Pascal Dubois-Pèlerin
27 years of experience in risk management, derivatives trading and structuring
Pascal joined Clerville in 2009 from Jason Capital, a London-based fund of hedge funds manager prior to which he was a risk manager at Harmony Capital and was managing his own investments in hedge funds. Before this he worked in derivatives and capital markets, first at Bankers Trust and then at Barclays Capital, where he was a Managing Director of Equity and Funds Derivatives. Pascal graduated in Business Administration from the Solvay Business School at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1988.

Patrick Fauchier
30 years of experience in hedge fund investments
Patrick practised as a dental surgeon for twenty years in his clinic in Paris and taught at the Université Paris V and Hôpitaux de Paris, before moving with his family to London in 1991. In 1995, he co-founded Fauchier Partners, a company specialised in the selection of hedge funds, with offices in London, Paris, and New York. Patrick created and chaired the Hedge Fund Centre for Education and Research at the London Business School, the BNP Paribas Hedge Fund Centre at HEC Paris, and the BNP Paribas Hedge Fund Centre at the Singapore Management University. After the sale of Fauchier Partners to BNP Paribas in 2011, Patrick invested in and chaired a technology company, Bluwan, which he sold in 2015. In 2016 he joined the London multi-family office Holbein Partners as a partner. He left Holbein at the end of 2020 and joined Clerville in January 2021.
Patrick is a board member of Miracles, a charity supporting children and adults injured by landmines in Bosnia. Patrick and his family created United Children of the World, (UCW), a registered UK charity which looks after the education, health, and wellbeing of children.


Valentin Hofmann, CFA
Valentin joined Clerville in the fall of 2018 after graduating top of his class from the M.Sc. in Financial Markets program at EDHEC Business School. Prior to Clerville, Valentin was working as an execution sales trader (intern) for delta-one and volatility products for the German ETS trading desk at BNP Paribas. He also previously worked as an intern for the German institutional sales team of Amundi Asset Management in Frankfurt, and for SAIF Partners, in Guangzhou, PRC. Additional to his master’s degree, he holds a B.Sc. in international business administration from the Catholic University Eichstätt- Ingolstadt, and a BBA in management from Sun Yat-Sen University (PRC). Valentin successfully completed all three levels of the CFA Program and is a CFA charterholder since 2022.
Mathieu Chacun
Mathieu joined Clerville in 2021 from Omega Wealth Management in Geneva where he was Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Omega, he held Risk Management and Compliance positions at Unigestion and Sequoia, in Switzerland. Prior to that he worked for AXA Rosenberg Investment Management in the US and the UK between 2001 and 2011 where he started as Group Controller and ended as Risk Management Director. Mathieu started his career as external auditor at Deloitte and then internal auditor and subsidiaries Chief Financial Officer in the shipping industry at Delmas-Vieljeux. Mathieu graduated from Paris Dauphine University in 1985


Gerry Ifill-Williams
27 years of experience in investment management and research, focused on hedge funds
Gerry is an experienced analyst and joined Clerville in 2020 from Holbein Partners, a London based multi-family office where he served as a Senior investment Analyst. Before this he was an Investment Manager at Absolute Return Partners, a specialist advisor on esoteric equity and credit strategies to pension funds. Prior to this he was a Partner at Fauchier Partners, an institutional Fund of Hedge Fund business. Gerry has a BSc in Civil engineering gained from London University and an MBA from the University of Westminster.
Philippe Goffin
35 years of experience in debt capital markets and investment banking
Philippe joined Clerville in 2008 form Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein where he was regional head of coverage of private equity. Prior to that he was co-head of General Industries Debt Capital Markets at JP Morgan and in leverage finance at Chase Manhattan. He started his career with Citibank in the corporate bank. Philippe graduated in Economics and Finance at University of Louvain, Belgium.
